The Junior Embroiderers and Textile Students website is here to interest, inspire, inform and educate young people who are interested in stitching for fun or as a creative art. The materials on this site are provided by the Embroiderers' Guild - the only national charity dedicated to promoting embroidery to young people and adults.
The Guild has over 50 'Young Embroiderers' Groups around the country. These groups are run by volunteer members of the Embroiderers' Guild. The group leaders and helpers and the graduate textile artists we work with have a passion for enthusing and encouraging young people (girls and boys) to learn to create fun, exciting, interesting and artisitic embroidery from practical items and fashion accessories to artistic pieces that push the boundaries of design.
Click here to find the group nearest to you. It is the Guild's policy that all group leaders and at least one group helper holds a DBS (formerly CRB) Certificate.
If you and your young embroiderer cannot get to a group or there is no group within a reasonable distance you will find a huge amount on this site to interest and support your child and support yourself as a parent or grandparent.
Membership is only £10.00 a year. You can register and take out a subscription for your child today. Click on Junior Embroiderers for details of the benefits for 6 to 12 year olds or Textile Students for the wide range of interests for teenagers... or click on Join Here now.
