Membership is open to all young people between the ages of 5 and 18. The members' side of this website is packed with ideas, techniques, interviews and projects.
Each member has a personal gallery into which pictures of finished work can be uploaded. Our Junior Embroiderers (aged 5 to 12) and Textile Students (aged 13 to 18) can ask for their favourite items to be looked at by "Chief Stitch" and her team. One of them will provide helpful comments and may award a certificate of merit.
Textile Students can also find information on degree and diploma courses.
There are two options for membership:
- Become a Member and join a group. There are more than 60 local groups in the UK. These are run by experienced embroiderers who are committed to helping young people develop their talent and creative skills. Many of these groups are involved in local events and competitions. There are many opportunities for fun, friendships and learning. You can find your local group when you go on to register and join.
- Become an individual member. This site provides a wealth of material to support our individual members. Help is always at hand.
Membership is only £10 per year. You can register and pay on-line so please click here to join. (Registration and payment should be made on behalf of the Young Embroiderer by an adult).
