Airedale Young Embroiderers

Leela and Ellis Burnett (7 year old twins) have been attending the Airedale group for about a year. They recently won first and second prize for their age agroup at the Yorkshire & Humberside Regional Competition. There were many entries so it was very competitive. Each entry was given a number so the names of the entrants were not on their pieces and it was therefore judged anonymously so it is really fantastic that twiin brother and sister both won a prize!

Staffordshire Young Embroiderers had fun at their last meeting

Staffordshire Young Embroiderers made some lovely pincushions with tassels at their last meeting on 14th May. They used a log cabin patchwork design which consisted of a central square and then added strips around the edge. Pretty eastern themed fabric in mauves and purples. Thanks to the Group Leader Gill Murley who sent us the picture.

Marlborough Young Embroiderers - Wall Hanging for the Ruby Exhibition

Marlborough YE wall hangingChristine Hill, who is the Group Leader for Young Embroiderers at Marlborough tells us that her group recently contributed to the Ruby Anniversary of the adult branch of the Embroiderers' Guild by creating a wallhanging for the special exhibition. The young embroiderers drew round their hands onto fabric which they then decorated and cut out. Two of the older members made and decorated the "tree" and the hand shapes were added as "leaves". The wallhanging is about two metres long and just over a meter wide. What a great job!
