A beautiful book both for the beginner or an experienced embroiderer. It takes 10 simple embroidery stitches and uses them in different ways to embroider 74 different designs.
In full colour, it is a feast for the eyes. Detailed photography from the DMC threads used, to where to use each colour. Transfers for all the designs are at the back of the book and can be reused. There is also a project section giving lots of ideas where the embroidered flowers can be used from cards to book covers and much more.

Borders & Motifs - Michaela Learner - Ready to Stitch
How many times have we looked for a border or motif to finish a project only to find we can't just find what we are looking for. Look no longer. This beautifully illustrated book takes you from step one to pages of inspiration on how the borders and motifs can be used on a variety of fabrics.
Instructions are clear and detailed. There are transfers for 32 core designs in full colour using DMC threads with details of the thread colours used. The Complete Guide to Hand Sewing and Embellishing - Margaret Rowan
This book reflects the resurgence in sewing and embroidery. It takes the reader from choosing the right tools and fabrics to reading a dressmaking pattern.
The level of detail is simply fantastic. Close up photography of step by step instructions for each stitch. From types of thread to use and where to use them, to how much fabric do I need for a dress this book has it all.

Simple Patchwork Gifts - Christa Rolf - Love to Sew
A collection of small patchwork gifts which can be made in a day. Each project clearly shows the level of skill needed to complete each project. A good book for an older child to do on their own or for an adult to make with a younger child. Brightly illustrated - most projects can be made from scraps of fabric.

Hanging Hearts - Rachael Rowe - Love to Sew
It is what the title says - Hanging Hearts. A delightful book of hearts - all shapes and sizes.
