Airedale Young Embroiderers group meets every school holiday for 2 mornings, Thursday and Friday.
And now we have our own facebook page
In the Airedale group we like to make sure that everyone gets the help they need. We encourage everyone to design their own work after we have shown them samples. We meet in a lovely bright room in Riddlesden Institute alongside the Leeds/Liverpool Canal. All our members have been learning running stitch, chain stitch, blanket stitch. Some have learned stem stitch and french knots as well as how to sew on buttons and sequins.
MOST OF ALL, AS YOU CAN SEE, WE HAVE FUN!
July 2016 - Airedale Young Embroiderers won First Prize at Bingley Agricultural Show. Their work is going back on display at Bankfield Museum until the end of August 2016.
June 2016 - Leela and Ellis Burnett (7 year old twins) who have been coming to the Airedale group for a year, won 1st and 2nd prize for their age group in the Yorkshire & Humberside Regional Competition. There were many entries and the competition was great. The entries were numbered (so no names on the work) so wasn't it great that twin brother and sister both won a prize!
