Within the adult membership we can offer access to our students to learn all aspects of embroidery.
Whether you want to improve your basic stitching skills or learn new techniques such as goldwork, blackwork, canvas work or, if you are a student working in mixed media and following a school or college course, The Embroiderers' Guild has members all over the country willing to support and pass on those skills.
Perhaps you wish to find out more about the history of embroidery? Then where better to start than with The Embroiderers' Guild Collection of embroidery. The Collection consists of approximately 11,000 pieces of embroidery, all documented and available to our members through our gallery in Walton-on-Thames or via a visit to one of our exhibitions of the Collection that tours the UK each year.
We also have an extensive library ranging from very old, out-of-print textile books up to more modern ones. Again these are available to our members for study at Embroiderers' Guild House in Walton.
Students researching all aspects of embroidery are encouraged and given support where necessary.
No matter hold old or how young you are, if you have an interest in stitching and/or textiles, The Embroiderers' Guild is for you!
