In 1997 Clare was selected as Embroiderers’ Guild Scholar.

Since graduating Clare has participated in many community arts and arts for health projects using her textile work, often in puppet form, to engage with her audiences:

“ My work is about being able to look, to touch, to feel and sometimes to listen to the fabrics that I use within my work. Each one can make a different sound, each feels different and hopefully at the end of this investigation my work will bring about a smile."
