40th Anniversary of Young Embroiderers
A number of events have been planned for the 40th Anniversary
- The lovely people at John James Needles have donated needles and an information sheet on what needle to use and when to use it. All current and new members of YE in 2014 are eligible for this free gift
- The first outing was Olympia's Spring Textile Show in March where Mr X Stitch was displaying his work and that of others who inspire him. De Denne competition entries for 2014 were also on display and Mr X Stitch was on hand to offer inspiration and encouragement
- De Denne competition entries will also be on display at the Embroiderers' Guild AGM at Wyboston Lakes from 4-6 April
- We have invited YE members to submit pieces for an exhibition which will tour the UK in 2014 and 2015. Some of these pieces will also be on display at the EG AGM at Wyboston Lakes
- Members will have a chance to review books for Search Press and have their choice of books featured on the Young Embroiderers website
- Older members of YE will be able to work alongside the Editor of Embroidery to turn their ideas into a feature article.
- Stitch magazine will feature a YE project sent in by a member who will be given full support and guidance throughout the process
- Young Embroiderers will be a major feature of the Big Stitch later this year
- Embroiderers' Guild Regions will be having their own events to celebrate the 40th Anniversary
