These are courses people tell us they always wanted to do… but did not have the time, could not get to the college etc. Busy all day? A night owl or an early bird? Wanting to do something for you? Now you can.
Take advantage of the ‘Power of 5’
The courses require just 10 study hours. In most instances the 10 hours are made up of 3 x 2-hour tuition sessions followed by a 4-hour final project piece. Others will be 5 x 2-hour project sessions.
You can do just one course or, in your time, select any number of courses. Each course, successfully completed, will be recognised by a ‘Certificate of Competence’.
You will be allocated a personal study tutor to guide you through the course options. You can select one course at a time to be delivered online, assessed and verified. Complete 5 courses and you will be eligible for an Embroiderers’ Guild Award.
The courses start in September 2013
We are launching the first of a set of courses, each designed to take about 10 hours study, tutored by the course author, each highly experienced in their field. Some will comprise 4 lessons and a final project, others will be 5 projects. Progress will monitored throughout and all students guided to produce work of the same high standard. These courses, covering everything from whitework to machine embroidered bowls and using new products, will be certificated by the Embroiderers' Guild. The bank of options will grow and expand and it will be possible to build a portfolio in blocks of five subject certificates for a bronze, silver or gold award, over time.
These courses are our own, designed primarily for our members. They each cost £60 or £80 for non-members
