CONDITIONS
- Maximum number of entries - 3 per person
- There are no restrictions on subject matter; however, overall height must not exceed 3.00m
- All work entered must have been made since January 2000 and should not have been exhibited in any other national exhibition in the United Kingdom.
HOW TO ENTER
- Complete
the entry form and return it with
2 x 35mm slides of each entry and a cheque for £8.00 per
entry (£6.00 for Embroiderers' Guild Members)

- A £12.00 hanging fee per exhibit (includes insurance cover whilst on exhibition) is payable if the work is selected, and should be included when the work is delivered.
- Please use a separate entry form per entry.
- Cheques should be made payable to E G Enterrpises Ltd. Postal orders, travellers cheques (in sterling), Eurocheques and credit cards (Visa and Mastercard) are acceptable.
SELECTION
Selection for this exhibition is from 35mm slides, which may also be used for publicity purposes, the catalogue and to produce postcards from
the exhibition. Two slides are required for every entry: a) close up detail b) the total finished piece, as it will be presented (including any frame, support stand, or other means of presentation).
DO NOT submit slides containing glass or thick plastic mounts. NB. Poor photography will inhibit the selectors' decision.

Artists will be informed of the selection results by 20 July. Selected entries are subject to final approval by representatives of the selection panel, on 16 August. Entries which differ significantly from the slides representing them will be returned to the artist and the hanging fee returned. Every effort will be made to return the slides to the artists but this cannot
be guaranteed.
PRESENTATION OF WORK
All entries must include means of hanging ie. hooks, rings, poles, etc. All framed exhibits must be mirror plated, wherever possible. Any frame over 90cm in
any direction must not contain glass (perspex is acceptable), for safety reasons. If installation, method of display or re-packing could cause any problems please include instructions. Name, address and title of entry must be clearly attached to the work.
DELIVERY
Work must arrive at the Embroiderers' Guild between 6 - 14 August 2001, marked ART OF THE STITCH on the outside of the package. The hanging fee of
£12.00 per exhibit should be enclosed.
The work must be as stated on the entry form. No substitute will be accepted.

From overseas - any expenses incurred by the Embroiderers' Guild on the importation of exhibits (ie. import duty, clearance charges, etc.) which
cannot be reclaimed will be invoiced to the artist. If the work is not for sale
clearly mark that the contents are "for exhibition only - temporary import".
INSURANCE
Insurance of exhibits in transit to and from the exhibition is the responsibility of the artist. The Embroiderers' Guild covers insurance from arrival to despatch.
Insurance values must be stated on the entry form and should not exceed 65% of the final selling price.
SALE OF WORK
A commission of 30% plus VAT (currently 17.5%) will be deducted from the stated selling price given by the artist; e.g., selling price £100, commission £30, VAT £5.25, artist receives £64.75.
RETURN OF WORK
Exhibits will be returned as follows:
- collected in person from the Embroiderers' Guild 14 - 24 November
- via UPS
on the E G contract (£3.85 UK only) and artist invoiced
- collection by carrier instructed by the artist from 14 - 24 November
- by post and artist invoiced
LIABILITY
Work submitted to ART OF THE STITCH shall remain at all times at the artist's risk. E.G. Enterprises Ltd is not liable to refund entry fees for any reason. The Embroiderers' Guild and selection panel reserve the right to use their discretion in all matters concerning work submitted. Their decision in all matters relating to the exhibition will be final and no correspondence can be entered into concerning the selection of work. Any artist submitting work must accept these conditions.
