Cross-cornered cushion stitch
Size: 22 x 18 cm
A photo of violas in a gardening magazine was scanned into a computer and pixelated to turn it into squares of colour. This provided the basis of the canvaswork cushion, which is worked on painted canvas, wholly or partially stitched, allowing some areas of the canvas to show through. Mainly worked in stranded cottons and rayons (some space-dyed), some areas are highlighted with beads.
