The
Victoria and Albert Museum is organising its annual competition
to celebrate Adult Learners Week (11-17 May 2002) and your
work of art could be one of the new exhibits on view.
The
V&A at South Kensington houses the world's finest collection
of decorative arts and crafts including prints, silver, ceramics
and jewellery. The collection spans 2000 years, encompassing
present-day British contemporary designs as well as objects
from around the world. Three other museums administered by
the V&A offer inspirational collections for this competition:
The Museum of Childhood, The Theatre Museum in Covent Garden,
and Apsley House displaying the Duke of Wellington's rich
collection of paintings and furniture in a period setting.
Visit
any of the museums or all of them and produce a piece of work
inspired by the collections or their environment. For further
information and an application form please telephone Learning
and Visitors Centre in the V&A Museum on 020 7942 2197/2184.
