Eligibility
Works must demonstrate incorporation of / use of / reference to / inspiration from stitch.
Works must not exceed 3 meters in height.
Works must have been made since January 2002 and not previously nationally exhibited.
There are no other limitations on eligibility.

Most outstanding exhibit by an artist who has not previously exhibited outside their country of residence.

Most outstanding exhibit developed through innovative use of stitch.

Most outstanding exhibit by an artist who has completed a degree level course or above in 2002.
Anchor Student 2 Award £200
Most outstanding exhibit by an artist who has completed a FE / C&G course in 2002.

Selection
The selection panel’s decisions are solely based on material submitted, so the quality of slides is very important.
Only 2 slides for each work will be viewed (or 5 mins of material representing time based work), so do not send more that this. Visual material from unselected applicants will be returned at the end of May 2003. Visual material from selected artists will be returned at the end of the exhibition. Due to the unique nature of this historic venue, Hall Place may not include the entire art of the STITCH 2003 exhibition, selections will be made during installation at Hall Place.

Submission
Applications will only be accepted on the official entry form, which can be photocopied or printed from the web site at
www.embroiderersguild.com.
Applicants may enter up to 3 works, each accompanied by it’s own entry form.
Each work should be represented in 2 x 35mm slides only. One slide must show the entire work, including how it is displayed (i.e. framed, wall mounted, suspended, free standing, installation etc).
Time-based media (i.e. video, DVD) will only be accepted to represent time-based work, and is limited to 5 mins.
Do not send original or sole copies of any visual material.
Applications received on or before 11 April 2003 will be accepted. (Entries post marked on or before 9 April 2003 (UK) or 4 April 2003 (International) but arriving up to 5 days late, will also be accepted.)

Fee
£10.00 per entry (£8.00 per entry for Embroiderers’ Guild members)

Conditions of Entry
The decision of the selection panel is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
The Embroiderers’ Guild cannot be held responsible for lost or damaged slides.
The Embroiderers’ Guild is not liable to refund entry fees for any reason.
Slides from selected entries may be used for publicity purposes.
Photographs of selected works will be made and used by the Embroiderers’ Guild for the production of an exhibition catalogue and for publicity purposes.
A 35% commission incl. VAT will be deducted from the stated selling price given by the artist, on all works sold as a result of the exhibition.
Insurance of selected exhibits in transit to and from the Embroiderers’ Guild is the responsibility of the artist.
The Embroiderers’ Guild will arrange insurance of works (at 65% of the stated selling price given by the artist) for the period from arrival at the Guild to despatch from the Guild at the end of the exhibition.
