The planning for this exciting two day event is well under way now and we look forward to presenting it to you in the next edition of Contact magazine which will enclose a fully detailed booking form for your use, and which will also be available on this website. Highlights include a 'Welcome to Glasgow' Civic Reception especially held for Embroiderers' Guild Members by the Lord Provost at City Hall, private preview of Riches of Stitches exhibition, tour of Charles Rennie Mackintosh's Glasgow School of Art which houses the most impressive range of his work, your all-important Annual General Meeting followed by a fascinating AGM lecture, and finally an exclusive and private visit to the wonderful Burrell Collection where you will have time to browse through some of the museum galleries before we gather in the Courtyard by the Warwick Vase for a champagne reception, followed by a delicious three course meal in the restaurant. All this and ample time over the 2 days, when we are based at the Royal Academy of Music and Drama, to catch up with friends over a cup of tea or coffee, or a sit down lunch, enjoy full access to the embroidery displays which will be there and of course, plenty of opportunity to shop! See you there..... |
